Summary
Take a key role in conducting field investigations, performing specialized inspections, executing materials testing, managing project workflows, and delivering clear, timely, and professional reports.
Responsibilities
- Project management of construction special inspections and material testing assignments.
- Perform special inspections and material testing as needed.
- Report preparation and review.
- Supervise and support project team.
- Implement quality assurance of field and laboratory adherence to technical standards and applicable codes.
- Engage in continuing education to keep certifications current.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma required.
- Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.
- Must possess at least one International Code Council (ICC) Certification for one of the following Special Inspector Categories: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board.
- Functional knowledge of industry practices an regulations, NYS Building Code, and engineering standards.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.
- Proficient with MS Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Compensation: $25 - 32 / hour
