Summary Join our team as a Field Inspector, providing essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects throughout the Greater Elmira, NY area. Help ensure compliance on some of the regions most exciting construction sites.
Responsibilities
Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more.
Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate established standards.
Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner.
Communicate regularly with project managers.
Complete field data records and associated reports daily.
Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC).
Qualifications
HS Diploma required.
Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.
Must possess at least one International Code Council (ICC) Certification for one of the following Special Inspector Categories: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Compensation: $23 - 32 / hour
